Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable and Use Voice Control Feature in Camera App in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

The Camera app in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has various features that are designed to help you easily take a picture in any condition, one of which is the voice control feature. When this feature is enabled, you can take a picture by saying the predefined voice command. It comes handy when you cannot use your hand to control your phone when you want to take a picture.


How to enable or disable the voice control feature in the Camera app?
Before you can take a picture with your voice, you have to enable the voice control feature in the Camera app by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. To enable or disable the voice control feature for the rear camera, do as follows:
    • Tap at the top left corner of the screen to view more detailed settings.
    • Tap Shooting methods(rear).
    • Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Voice control to enable or disable this option. When the switch turns , means the voice control feature is enabled and you can take a picture with the rear camera by saying the predefined voice command.
  3. To enable or disable the voice control feature for the front camera, do as follows:
    • Tap to switch from the rear camera to the front camera.
    • Tap at the top left corner of the screen to view more detailed settings.
    • Tap Shooting methods(front).
    • Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Voice control to enable or disable this option. When the switch turns , means the voice control feature is enabled and you can take a picture with the front camera by saying the predefined voice command.


How to use the voice control feature to take a picture in the Camera app?
If you have enabled this feature, you can take a picture with your voice. As the example, we'll use this feature to take a picture with the rear camera in the Camera app by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Point the camera to the object.
  3. If needed, you can manually change the focus by tapping anywhere on the screen where the camera should focus.
  4. Say "Smile", "Cheese", "Capture", or "Shoot" to take a picture.
