Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable Vibration when Receiving New Text Messages in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

There are some conditions where you may need to set your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to vibrate when receiving new text messages, as the example, when you're carrying your phone in your pocket while you're in a noisy environment where you may difficult to know the messages just by hearing the notification sound, or when you're in a place where you're prohibited to make any noise so feel the vibration can help you easily know when you have new text messages so you won't miss any important ones, etc.

How to enable vibration when receiving new text messages?
You can do so by using the following steps:

  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Notifications.
If notifications is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on.
  4. Slide the ON/OFF switch next to Vibrations to the right to enable it. The switch turns when it's enabled.
FYI, this option won't be available when the sound profile in your phone is set to silent.
  5. Now, your phone will play a short pulse of vibration when receiving new text messages.
