Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable and Use Easy Mute Feature in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Easy mute is one of gesture-based features in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that will let you mute incoming calls or alarms by placing your hand on the screen or turning the device over. It comes handy to easily silence the call or alarm when it rings in wrong or unwanted situations, e.g., while you're at library, while you're in a meeting, etc.

How to enable or disable the easy mute feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Advanced features and then tap it.
  3. Scroll the screen to the very bottom and then tap Easy mute.
  4. Tap the ON/OFF switch to enable or disable the easy mute feature. The switch turns blue when it's enabled.

How to use the easy mute feature?
When the easy mute feature is enabled and an incoming call arrives or an alarm goes off, cover the screen with your palm or turn the device over so that the screen will face downwards to mute/silence the call or alarm tone.
