Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Change Screen Grid Size in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

By default, each home screen panel in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is divided to 4 rows and 4 columns to allow you display up to 16 apps shortcuts or 1x1 widgets in a single home screen panel. When needed, instead of adding or removing home screen panels, you can change the home screen grid size so you can display less or more apps shortcuts or widgets on the home screen.

How to change the screen grid size?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On the home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers or long tap on an empty area to go to the edit screen.
  2. Tap Screen grid button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the required grid size you want to use. There are three options available:
    • 4x4: select this option to divide a home screen panel becomes 4 rows and 4 columns so you can use it to display up to 16 items.
    • 4x5: select this option to divide a home screen panel becomes 4 rows and 5 columns so you can use it to display up to 20 items.
    • 5x5: select this option to divide a home screen panel becomes 5 rows and 5 columns so you can use it to display up to 25 items. As a note, when you choose this option, the app screen layout will also be changed to 5 rows and 5 columns to match it with the home screen layout.
  4. Tap Apply button to save the changes.
  5. The selected grid size will be applied to your home screen. You can press the Home button to see the changes.
