Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Create a Text Memo Using S Memo App in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

S Memo app is a note application in Samsung Galaxy S4 that you can use to create simple memos with ease. You can type your memo using the virtual keyboard and complete your memo by inserting pictures, voice recording and maps into your memo.


How to use S Memo app to create a text memo?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock S Memo app.
  2. Tap at the top of the screen to enter the text mode and start making a text memo.
  3. Now, you can type your memo using the virtual keyboard.
  4. If needed, you can insert an object into your memo by tapping above the keyboard and then select from the following options:
    • Take picture: tap this option to insert a picture taken with the stock Camera app.
    • Images: tap this option to insert a picture from the stock Gallery app.
    • Clipboard: tap this option to insert a copied picture from the clipboard.
    • Maps: tap this option to insert a captured location from the Google Maps app. FYI, this option works if your phone has Internet connection.
    • Clip art: tap this option to insert a picture from the provided clip arts.
  5. If you have inserted an object(e.g: picture, clip art, etc) into your memo, you can do the following actions:
    • Resize: tap and hold the object to select it and then drag the edge to resize the object. Tap the background to deselect the object.
    • Move: tap and hold the object and then drag it using your finger to move the object. Tap the background to deselect the object.
    • Delete: tap and hold the object to select it and then tap to delete the object.
    • Rotate: tap and hold the object to select it and then tap or to rotate the object. Tap the background to deselect the object.
  6. If needed, you can insert a voice recording into your memo by using the following steps:
    • Tap above the keyboard. A voice recorder window will appear in your screen.
    • Tap Record button to start recording.
    • While recording, you can stop recording(this will add the recording to your memo automatically), pause/resume recording or discard recording.
    • After recording, you can replay, replace or delete the recording.
  7. Tap above the keyboard to add a new page for your text memo.
  8. Tap to review your text memo in the view mode. While you're in this mode, you can do the following actions:
    • Zoom in: spread two fingers apart together.
    • Zoom out: pinching the screen using your fingers.
    • Move between pages: swipe the screen to the left or to the right.
    • Return to the edit mode: tap at the bottom of the screen to return to the edit mode.
  9. Tap Save button at the top right corner to save your memo.
  10. Enter the required name for your text memo and then tap OK button.
  11. Your text memo has been saved.
