Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Change Default Email Account in the Stock Email App in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

As we all know that the stock Email app has the ability to manage multiple email accounts so that you can add more than one email account to this app. When you have added two or more email accounts, you can set one of them as the default so that the app will automatically use this account as the default sender when you're composing a new email message from the combined inbox or from other apps.

How to set an email account as the default in the stock Email app?
You can set an email account as the default by using some methods. But, as the example, we'll do so by using two different methods: when adding an email account and from the email account settings menu.

Method #1: When adding an email account
When you add another email account to your phone, either from the general settings menu or from the Email app itself, within the process you'll be provided with an option to set the email account as the default. You can see the steps to add an email account here.

Method #2: From the email account settings menu
This method can be used to set the email account that has been added to the stock Email app as default. Use the following steps to do so:
  1. Open the stock Email app.
  2. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Manage accounts.
  4. Tap the required account you want to set as default.
  5. Check the box next to Default account to enable this option.
  6. The selected email account has been set as the default.
