Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Export Contacts to a SIM Card in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Copying contacts list to a SIM card is one of the ways to backup your contacts or to move your contacts to another phone with ease. But, you have to remember that since a SIM card has a limited storage therefore you will probably not be able to copy all of your contacts to a single SIM card. In addition, the SIM card also only lets you to add a single phone number and a single name for a single contact therefore if a contact that you're going to copy to the SIM card has multiple phone numbers or names then only the phone number or the name that have been set as the default preferences that will be copied to the SIM card, and if the contact has another additional information, e.g: email address, address, etc then these information won't be copied to the SIM card.

How to export contacts to a SIM card?
You can copy contacts from your phone storage or other accounts(e.g: Google account or Samsung account) to the inserted SIM card by using the following steps:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. If needed, tap the Contacts tab.
  3. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
  4. Tap Contacts.
  5. Tap Import/export.
  6. Tap Export to SIM card. FYI, this option only available if you have inserted a SIM card into your phone.
  7. Select the required contacts you want to export to the inserted SIM card, or tap Select all to select all contacts.
  8. Tap Done button.
  9. A window will appear to warn you that some information within the contacts might be lost when they're copied to the SIM card.
  10. Tap OK button to continue exporting selected contacts to the SIM card.
  11. The selected contacts will be copied to the SIM card.

As a note, if you own S5 with other model number and don't have the option to export contacts to SIM card then you can alternatively do so by using a third-party app from the Play Store that has the ability to transfer contacts to the SIM card.
